Lily 1922 (#7 in garment series)
Sports outfit in the style of the 1920's
Etching and lithograph on silk
$700.00
"Lily was a great great aunt. As a child I was a bit frightened of her. She always dressed in black. She never smiled or laughed like the other relatives. She lived with her brother's family, having never married. I was fortunate to have a cousin let me read years of family letters and I found that Lily had been a "tom boy", very independent and lively. Her letters and postcards showed me a very different person and I wanted to honor that lost spirit."

Sarah 1888 (#4 in garment series)
Skirt and jacket (1887)
Etching and embroidery on silk
$800.00
"Sarah was my great grandmother. She married at 16 . Her husband was a man who loved women and he never stopped seeing others. When she was pregnant with my grandfather, she sat on the front porch of her parents' home watching for him for the last 3 weeks before she gave birth. She died in Childbirth and when he finally came home, his wife was dead and he had a son. He left the child with the grandparents and went west. I have her dress. I copied it in the silk organdy."
