"Pits of Hell at base reflect the depth of depression where a botched surgery caused the artist to lose her job, her ability to make her quilts, her faith of her friends and coworkers. Doors were closed to her. A second surgery gave her hope as her rehabilitation progressed (reflected by the butterfly) and a new path was revealed. The tied ribbons are the true friends that helped her in her healing journey under the watchful but saddened Eye of God."
